Warm Hearts Coat Drive at Wetaskiwin Mall

With winter fast approaching, Wetaskiwin Mall and parent company Avenue Living are helping those in need stay cozy and dry. The Mall’s second annual Warm Hearts Coat Drive will help warm the community, one coat at a time.

On Saturday, November 17th, outerwear will be handed out starting at 10:00 am. To determine community members in need, Wetaskiwin Mall is enlisting the help of local community support agencies. Individuals who access support through these agencies will qualify for a voucher, which can be exchanged for one coat, hat and one pair of gloves. A limited number of these items will be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis to those with vouchers.

“Last year’s coat drive was a great success, but there’s always room for improvement,” said Zora Roberts, President of Avenue Living Communities. “Thanks to our partnerships with Sport Chek and Giant Tiger, this year’s Warm Hearts Coat Drive will be even warmer.”

Avenue Living, in partnership with Sport Chek, will provide a selection of new coats. An additional partnership with Giant Tiger will provide new hats and gloves.

The Wetaskiwin community is also encouraged to get involved. The Warm Hearts Coat Drive will accept donations of new or gently used jackets. Please contact Wetaskiwin Mall if you wish to donate.
