Connecting with Advisors via Thought-Provoking Reads

At Avenue Living, we are deeply committed to supporting the advisor community by providing valuable resources and opportunities for engagement. Whether through events, timely industry news, insightful white papers, educational videos, or our recent book club, we aim to foster meaningful connections and deliver tools that benefit advisors. In 2024, Kesrick Wainwright, Vice President of Sales, and Kyle Cooper, Associate Director of Sales, launched a book club that embodies our dedication to fostering learning, meaningful dialogue, and shared discovery.

The book club is a social initiative designed to increase engagement in our advisor community. Cooper says of the program, “We’re creating connection by sharing topical literature, and upcoming speaking events with our network. This includes sending out a book each quarter, along with an email highlighting our selection as well as other engaging activities that may be of interest.”  The book club creates a memorable way for us to deepen the relationship we have with our advisors. We’re all in the business of connecting with people and creating meaningful interactions at every touchpoint. “The book club seemed like the perfect opportunity for us to deliver ongoing communications that advisors would look forward to engaging with,” shares Cooper.

The initiative currently has over 20 participants, with more joining all the time. In 2024, the group read Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man's Fight for Justice by Bill Browder; Bullshift: How Optimism Bias Threatens Your Finances by John. J. De Goey; The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life by Alice Schroeder; Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight, and Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins. Participants who had already read one of these titles were sent an alternative option to continue their reading journey.

Cooper shares, “We’ve seen a great deal of excitement so far, with advisors eager to join and ready to chat about the quarterly book selection, and we’re looking forward to putting together this year’s book list in the next couple of weeks.” The book club will continue to deliver valuable and interesting material for everyone to enjoy and hopes to add more members in 2025.
